Amine Biotinylation

Amine Biotinylation

Biotinylation refers to the process of covalently attaching biotin to proteins, nucleic acids or other biomolecules. Biotinylation reactions are fast, efficient and less susceptible to interference from environmental factors (such as temperature, pH, and proteases). Amine groups, mainly primary amine groups, are common reactive functional groups and are widely present in lysine side chains on the surface of proteins and in natural polymer materials. Amine groups can covalently synthesize amide bonds with functional groups of carboxylic acids, which are the most common biomarker targets and are usually used for biotinylation. Aminobiotinylation reagents are divided into common N-hydroxysulfosuccinimide (NHS) and sulfonated N-hydroxysulfosuccinimide (Sulfo-NHS). Alfa Chemistry focuses on biotinylation services, provides a wide range of biotinylation strategies, and insists on innovation and development to meet customers' needs for efficient target labeling.

Alfa Chemistry provides a wide range of biotinylation strategies, and can use appropriate tools to match customers with the best labeling reagents, constantly improve the quality service system, and insist on meeting customers' needs with efficient services. The biotinylation services we can provide include but are not limited to:

  • Efficient aminobiotinylation
  • Amine biotinylation assay
  • Binding affinity calculation

Features of biotinylation services

  • Protein labeling: Biotinylation of biomolecules for efficient detection or purification
  • Amine reactivity: Reacts with primary amines (-NH2), such as the side chain of lysine (K) or the amino terminus of polypeptides
  • Hydrophobicity: Biotinylated labeling inside or outside cells

About aminyl biotinylation reagents

Common amination reagents are divided into ordinary N-hydroxysulfosuccinimide (NHS) and sulfonated N-hydroxysulfosuccinimide (Sulfo-NHS). These aminobiotinylation reagents are highly hydrophobic and permeable through cell membranes, enabling intracellular and extracellular targeting. The sulfonated N-hydroxysulfosuccinimide-activated biotin labeling reagent has better water solubility and is used in the labeling reaction.

Biotin-avidin/streptavidin system

The interaction between matterin-avidin/streptavidin is the strongest interaction known so far and is not easily affected by environmental factors such as pH, temperature and organic solvents. The interaction between biotin and avidin is a useful tool in systems approaches for purification, detection, immobilization, labelling, viral vector targeting, and drug targeting.

Alfa Chemistry offers a wide range of biotinylation services for efficient targeting of specific functional groups or residues, including proteins, peptides, antibodies and other biomolecules. If you are interested in our services, please contact us immediately.
